Two incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia (one CAT 3 incident and one CAT 4 incident) were reported, between 28 February – 6 March 2023.
Two incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia (one CAT 3 incident and one CAT 4 incident) were reported. The CAT 4 incident occurred on board a petroleum/chemical tanker at anchor at Panjang Anchorage, Indonesia. Engine spares were missing. The CAT 3 incident occurred on board a bulk carrier while underway in the eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme in the Singapore Strait (SS). Nothing was reported stolen. The crew members were safe in both incidents.

US imposes further sanctions against Russia

The International Marine Organisation (IMO) Sub-Committee on Ship Systems and Equipment (SSE 9), occurring from 27th February to 3rd of March, 2023, completed its review of SOLAS chapter II-2 and associated codes, including the Fire Safety Systems (FSS) Code, to minimize the incidence and consequences of fires on board ro-ro passenger ships.
